Wisconsin's Chad Mahder picks up the big paycheck in Huron, S.D.
What won the race: Chad Mahder of Eau Claire, Wis., slipped past John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wis., late in the 64-lap feature for a $6,400 victory in the Blaine Brothers Challenge Series richest event.
Key notes: Polesitter and early leader Scott Ward pulled in with power steering issues, handing the lead to Jake Redetzke. ... Redetzke suffered a flat right-rear tire during the pit stop, forfeiting his second spot. ... Kent Arment retired while running third in the later stages of the race. ... Brent Larson brought out a caution for a flat right-front tire. ... Zach Johnson spun while racing hard with Ricky Weiss in the top five. ... Don Shaw made hard contact with the turn-two wall at the start of the second heat; Dustin Virkus had similar fortunes, slamming the turn-three wall in the third heat. ... Wet conditions wiped out Friday's series event at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, S.D. ... The track hosts the famed WISSOTA 100 on Sept. 10-13.
On the move: Eric Breeschoten of Buffalo, Minn., advanced from 12th to finish fourth.
