What won the race: Driving the Harrod Logging No. 27, hometown driver Terrance Nowell led the last half of the 50-lap Crate Late Model feature at East Alabama Motor Speedway for a $5,000 victory. The sixth-starting Nowell's victory came during National 100 weekend with polesitter Cla Knight and Mark Whitener finishing second and third.
Key notes: The Crate Late Model feature was on the undercard of the National 100 weekend, highlighted by a $20,000-to-win Super Late Model event. ... Saturday afternoon's Crate time trials locked in the top 16 drivers with Sunday consolation races completing the 24-car field. ... Several Crate drivers were also competing in the Super Late Model division including Kyle Bronson, Eric Cooley and Jason Hiett. ... Andrew Cole of Canon, Ga., smashed the turn-four wall in time trials; he was sore and suffered abrasions from his safety belts but was otherwise unhurt. The car will require a new front clip, he said.
