What won the race: Polesitter Derek Ellis of Chatsworth, Ga., outran fourth-starting Michael Page of Douglasville, Ga., to emerge victorious in Saturday night's 40-lap Southern All Star Series feature at Talladega Short Track. Ellis took the checkered flag 1.291 seconds ahead of Page for a $4,000 payday in the track's NASCAR weekend finale.
Key notes: Ellis tangled with a slower car in turn two on lap 25 but was restored to the lead. ... Sixteen of the event's 24 starters finished on the lead lap. ... The Southern All Stars wrapped up the season. ... Jonathan Davenport drove Midwesterner Chad Stapleton's No. 32 to a fourth-place finish. ...
