Jason Hiett heads for a NeSmith touring victory at Talladega.
What won the race: Track standout Jason Hiett of Oxford, Ala., rolled to victory from the pole position for a $2,500 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series payday at Talladega Short Track. Former NeSmith champion Ronnie Johnson finished runner-up for the second straight night, while Friday's NeSmith winner Cory Hedgecock rounded out the podium.
Key notes: The race wrapped up Talladega's busy NASCAR weekend. ... Hiett finished ninth in Saturday's Southern All Stars-sanctioned Super Late Model feature won by Derek Ellis. ... In addition to multiple weekly victories in the Super Late Model division, Hiett also previously scored SAS and MSCCS triumphs at TST in 2016. ... The NeSmith touring series saw four winners in four events at Talladega this season. ... The NeSmith finale is set for Nov. 25-26 at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss.
