Riley Hickman embraces his boys in victory lane at Rome, Ga.
What won the race: Winning the 100-lap season finale, Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tenn., overtook polesitter John Ownbey on the 33rd lap at Rome Speedway and led the rest of the way for his first career Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series victory. Jake Knowles finished 2.479 seconds behind Hickman in the feature for CT 525-powered Late Models.
Key notes: Hickman has 16 features victories on the season among various Late Model divisions. ... After leading the first 32 laps, John Ownbey slipped back to finish seventh; he won the previous night's Chevy Series feature at Rome's sister track, Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. ... Fourteen drivers completed 100 laps at Rome. ... Derek Ellis of Chatsworth, Ga., earned $3,000 for his Super Late Model victory that co-highlighted Rome's program. ... Hall of Fame driver Leon "Slick" Sells served as grand marshal of the track's 50th anniversary event.
