Bryce Davis and his supporters enjoy victory lane at Ransomville.
What won the race: Winning for the third time in the last four RUSH Dirt Late Model Series events, polesitter of Bryce Davis of Hornell, N.Y., outran third-starting John Waters of Whitesville, N.Y., for a $2,000 victory at Ransomville Speedway. Davis comfortably took the checkered flag by 2.842 seconds.
Quotable: "The cautions kept dragging it out, but I'm glad we made it to the end," the 25-year-old Davis said. "From the get go I was afraid to get off the bottom or someone would get under me so I was taking it easy. After that red flag I decided to drive it a little harder and it worked out. This car has been great."
Key notes: Davis also won June 19 at Tri-City Raceway Park and July 1 at Lernerville Speedway. ... The series made its first trip to Ransomville. ... John Waters of Whitesville, N.Y., won in series action Wednesday at Expo Speedway in Cortland, Ohio; Davis was the runner-up. ... Ransomville was the second of two New York ovals to host the series.
On the move: Jon Rivers of Alabama, N.Y., started 15th and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Davis is sponsored by Mike Palmer Heating & Cooling, CRS, Lopers Auto Sales, Griswold's E.T.A. Services, Beers Tree Service and McCourt's.
