Kenny Pettyjohn captured the AMS finale in Selinsgrove, Pa.
What won the race: Polesitter Kenny Pettyjohn of Millsboro, Del., overtook second-starting Rick Eckert of York, Pa., on the 12th lap and led the rest of the 40-lapper for a victory in the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek finale. Pettyjohn earned $4,000 in taking the checkers and wrapping up the AMS title, finishing .900 seconds ahead of Eckert with Gregg Satterlee in third.
Quotable: "That was fun racing with Rick, it always is," Pettyjohn said. "My car must've been a little bit better getting into the corner ... the lapped traffic didn't hurt."
Key notes: Pettyjohn earned his first career Appalachian Mountain Speedweeks victory. .. The race was slowed by two cautions. ... Gregg Satterlee and Andy Haus got together on lap 26. ...
