Rattliff leads flag-to-flag for Richmond triumph
Justin Rattliff earned $4,000 for his victory at Richmond.
What won the race: Polesitter Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, Ky., led the entire 40-lap distance, outrunning Jeremy Hines of Seymour, Ind., for a $4,000 Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Series victory at Richmond Raceway.
Key notes: Rattliff scored his first victory of the 2016 season. ... The first yellow waved on the first lap when Todd Coffman spun in turns three and four. … A second yellow flag flew on lap two for a collision involving Michael Chilton. … Greg Johnson spun in turns three and four to draw a caution on lap three. … A yellow waved on lap eight when Derek Fisher slowed on the backstretch with his hood flying up and blocking his vision. … Making contact with a lapped car, second-running Scott James spun in turn three on lap 21, collecting Jason Jameson. Never stopping on the racetrack, James returned to his position. … Dennis Barton drew a caution when he spun in turn two on lap 22. ... The event marked the first of five Kentucky races on the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series.
On the move: After drawing an early caution, Greg Johnson of Bedford, Ind., rallied from the tail of the field to finish fourth.
