Jared Hawkins earned $5,000 for his first Carolina Clash victory.
What won the race: Fourth-starting Jared Hawkins of Fairmont, W.Va., collected his first career Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series victory, holding off eighth-starting Johnny Pursley of Clover, S.C., for a $5,000 victory in the Wix Filters King of Carolinas at Carolina Speedway. Hawkins went around Ross Bailes for the lead after leader Joey Coulter fell out on a restart.
Key notes: Hawkins is the seventh first-time Carolina Clash winner of the season. ... More than 200 total race cars broke a record for the third-year event. ... Trent Ivey won Friday's SECA-sanctioned Bill Hendren Memorial for Crate Late Models, earning $3,000. ... Nine total divisions were in action.
