Billy Moyer Jr. emerges in victory lane at Kentucky Lake.
What won the race: Fifth-starting Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark., bested polesitter Ashley Newman of Ripley, Tenn., to collect a $4,000 payday in his first career Southern All Stars victory at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway.
Key notes: Moyer Jr. notched his third August victory, his sixth on the 2015 season. ... Friday's event marked the first of two nights of Southern All Stars action at KLMS. Saturday's program is $5,000-to-win. ... The tour made its KLMS debut. ... Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tenn., was the winner of the Crate Late Model feature; he finished third.
On the move: Dylan Ames of Harvest, Ala., charged from the 14th starting position to finish fifth. Jake Knowles of Tyrone, Ga., advanced from the 17th starting spot to finish ninth.
