Jared Miley picks up his third career ULMS victory.
What won the race: Jared Miley of South Park, Pa., extended his points lead on the Zimmer's Service Center United Late Model Series with a non-stop 25-lap victory Sunday at Tri-City Raceway Park. Miley turned back a late challenge by fellow front-row starter Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., for the $3,000 victory.
Quotable: “We have our program rolling in the right direction right now,” Miley said in a team release. “We’ve been hitting our marks and it is really paying off. Our deal is a family deal; everyone works hard and takes a lot of pride in this race team. Hopefully we can keep our positive momentum going and find a few more wins this year.”
Key notes: Miley notched his fifth Super Late Model victory of the season. ... Miley has three career ULMS victories; his previous series victories came in 2009 and '12. ... Max Blair won the night's Crate Late Model feature, the $2,000-to-win Bill Emig Memorial on the Sweeney Chevorlet RUSH Series. ... When the Boom Briggs team was loading up, his car rolled off the raised liftgate and fell rear-end first to the ground; no one was injured. Crew member Shane Winans said the winch cable slipped off the car.
On the move: Rob Blair started sixth and finished fourth.
Winner's sponsors: Miley's Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Brougher Machine Shop, Colussy Chevrolet, FullyInjected.com, Hoosier Racing Tire, Octane Graphix and Schaeffer's Racing Oil.
Points chase: Jared Miley entered the event with 97 points to lead Max Blair (68) and Keith Barbara (67), Saturday's winner at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.
