Jon Mitchell has seven SUPR victories in 2015, one more than 2014.
What won the race: Polesitter Jon Mitchell of Texarkana, Texas, eclipsed the victory total of his title-winning 2014 campaign Saturday at Battleground Race Park, earning his seventh P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing series triumph of the season. Mitchell pocketed $2,000 for the 40-lap win, the 18th of his SUPR career.
Key notes: Runner-up Curt Lipsey was looking for his first SUPR victory since 2002. ... Hearts were heavy in the SUPR community with Thursday's death of Pat Wright, long-time car owner for series regular Ronny Adams.
On the move: Tyler Erb of Magnolia, Texas, made the most notable advance, moving from the seventh starting spot to a fourth-place finish.
