Trent Ivey heads toward a $3,000 victory at Carolina Speedway.
What won the race: Second-starting Trent Ivey of Union, S.C., led all 30 laps, topping eighth-starting Jonathan Edwards of Clover, S.C., by 2.111 seconds for his first career Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series victory in an attrition-filled event. Ivey earned $3,000.
Key notes: The feature took over 50 minutes to complete. ... Just six drivers completed the full 30-lap distance and only eight were running at the finish. ... The tour made only its second appearance in Gastonia and first since July 26, 2013.
On the move: Gary Puckett started 14th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: The winning MasterSbilt Race Car is sponsored by Nichols Communication, Dirtwrap, Express Hydraulics, Ivey Construction, Ohlins and Upstate Medical Supply.
