Canadian standout Ricky Weiss notched his second straight Norman County victory.
What won the race: Completing a sweep of NLRA's midweek doubleheader at Norman County Raceway, Ricky Weiss of Headingly, Manitoba, pulled away from an early duel with Zach Johnson and cruised to victory at the 3/8-mile oval. Weiss, who also captured Wednesday's main event, finished 4.4 seconds ahead of Dustin Strand. Johnson, who led laps 3-6, was third.
Key notes: Weiss has 14 career NLRA victories. ... Zach Johnson and Dustin Strand battled side-by-side for second from laps 9-23 with Strand finally claiming the spot. ... A nine-car crash on the first lap eliminated Cody Skytland, Bill Mooney and Robert Bladow. ... Fifteen of 25 starters were running at the checkers. ... The race was the the second of five consecutive nights of NLRA action in Minnesota. ... Brad Seng of Grand Forks, N.D., fell out of the series points lead Wednesday when he was caught up in a first-lap crash.
