What won the race: Sliding under Tyler Erb on the 23rd lap, seventh-starting Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., led the rest of Saturday's 60-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series feature at Modoc Speedway for a $25,000 payday. Davenport repelled Ryan Gustin and Bobby Pierce in the second half of the race, winning by 1.089 seconds over Gustin for his 19th career WoO victory and first in 11 months.
Quotable: "Good thing I ain't got a rear-view mirror, because I didn't really know where they was at, I didn't know where I was best at or worst at," Davenport said. "What a phenomenal racetrack. I wasn't in love with it last night, but it was better than old Modoc. But tonight, man, I loved it. It was really good You had to to really hit your marks to where you was gonna run out on the racetrack ... it's just so icy slick."
Key notes: Jonathan Davenport, a Belton, S.C., resident, scored his first WoO victory since 2025's season-ending World Finals feature at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C. ... His victory was his first since Aug. 29 in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series action at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway. ... Bobby Pierce, using the high groove to rally from 21st, got to second on the 50th lap and was within a tenth of a second of J.D. on lap 53, but his car lost power on the 56th lap and he coasted to the infield for his first DNF of the season. ... Runner-up Ryan Gustin closed in to challenge Davenport with 20 laps remaining, but couldn't find a way past and lost the spot to Pierce, regaining it upon Pierce's departure. ... Outside front-row starter Tyler Erb led laps 1-13 and 17-22 then began fading after the lap-24 restart with right-rear body damage; he finished eighth. ... Friday's winner Cody Overton, who made contact with Erb during an inside turn-one pass on the 14th lap, led three laps before blowing a tire entering turn one on the 17th lap. He was the first retiree. .... Three cautions slowed the race, the first when Ethan Wilson got into the turn-two wall on sixth lap. ... Wilson slowed again on the 24th lap with a flat tire. ... Pierce slowed on the 56th lap (his car also lost power in heat action). ... The 33-minute feature concluded at 9:24 p.m. with 15 drivers completing 60 laps.
On the move: Luke Morey of Denver, N.C., started 20th and finished ninth.
