What won the race: In a reversal of roles from May 15's Comeback Classic event at Mansfield Speedway, fifth-starting Rusty Schlenk of Jackson, Mich., slipped by race-long leader Kyle Moore on the 29th lap and paced the final two circuits in winning Saturday's Slingin' Dirt Late Model Series debut at the recently renovated half mile. Schlenk secured the $3,000 payday in taking the checkers 0.429 of a second ahead of Moore nearly four months after Moore stole a $5,000 Iron-Man Series victory from the race-long leading Schlenk in Mansfield's Comeback Classic, the first event there in more than six years.

Key notes: Schlenk took advantage of three late-race cautions, overtaking Ryan Missler for second after a lap-23 restart before taking the lead from Kyle Moore after a lap-28 restart. ... He held off Moore on a one-lap dash to the checkers after the fifth and final caution flew just after they took the initial white flag on lap 29. ... Schlenk secured his 13th overall feature win of the season and has reached victory lane in five consecutive starts dating back to July 25's Wood Tic at Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Mich., earning more than $25,000 over that span.
