What won the race: Racing under Mike Marlar on a lap-44 restart, seventh-starting Garrett Smith of Madison, Ga., led the final seven laps Saturday at Lake Cumberland Speedway's Harold Hardgrove Memorial for a $12,022 payday. Smith's Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series victory came ahead of ninth-starting Sam Seawright, who pressured the low-running Smith from the high side in the closing laps. Cody Overton led 36 laps from outside the front row before a flat tire helped Marlar take command.

Quotable: "I know me and Mikey were racing pretty good, and Sam, the entire race," Smith said. "I moved up a couple of times to get around a couple of lapped cars, but my car was just really, really good leaving the corner coming off of (turn) two and off of four. ... Man, our car was really good tonight."

The event honored Hardgrove, a former Kentucky racer and former Lake Cumberland Speedway promoter who died in 2009 at the age of 54. ... Hardgrove’s son, Brandon, currently owns and operates Lake Cumberland.
