What won the race: Overtaking pole-starting Daniel Adam on lap seven, Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., raced to his 39th MARS Late Model Championship Series victory in Friday's Jr. Kimler Memorial. The reigning tour champion held off current points leader Ryan Unzicker for the $5,000 triumph.
Quotable: "It feel good to get a win. We've got a long way to go to catch Ryan (Unzicker in series points, and he's going to need some bad luck," Feger said, "but our goal is just to win every race and and it is what it is."
Key notes: The win marked Feger's fifth Jr. Kimler Memorial victory and fifth career MARS Championship Series victory at Farmer City Raceway. … Dylan Thornton of Orcutt, Calif., briefly edged ahead of Ryan Unzicker following a lap-24 restart before settling for third. … Bob Gardner of Washington, Ill., rallied from the tail to finish eighth after pitting under the race's first caution on lap 24 to replace both rear tires. ... Tanner English abandoned his MARS plans, a no-show in giving up the fourth spot in series points. ... Two drivers were in different cars since the tour's last event May 30. Myles Moos of Lincoln, Ill., was back in his own No. 84 after splitting with Brent McKinnon Raceway and Caden McWhorter was in his family-owned No. 14 after departing the Curless Motorsports team.
On the move: Rich Bell of Sheffield, Ill., started 12th and finished eighth.
