Jason Feger won Sunday's caution-free feature at Lincoln.
What won the race: Second-starting Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., regained the lead from hometown driver Myles Moos with an outside move exiting turn four and never looked back, leading the final 36 laps to capture Sunday's caution-free DIRTcar Summer Nationals feature at Lincoln Speedway. Feger earned $7,500 and notched his second Summer Nationals victory in three nights and the 25th of his career in wrapping up the $10,000 Week 2 points title.
Quotable: “It was a little sketchy, the midgets (division) had it so crumbed-up up there, just had to tiptoe a little bit,” Feger said. “Luckily, we got (turns) one and two cleaned up decent enough to get a run and I was able to get back to the bottom in three and four and make it happen. But man, it sounds like we have a few fans here tonight, that’s awesome. You had to be patient (with lapped traffic), the car was really good. We love coming here, we don’t come here near enough, but we’re going to go back and drink some beer.”
Key notes: Feger led twice for 39 of the 40 laps; self-proclaiming this to be the best week of his career, Feger said his team will take a couple days off and return to the Summer Nationals tour on June 28 at Adams County or June 30 at Paducah. ... Third-starting Myles Moos pressured Feger much of the race and led lap four before finishing 0.713 of a second back. ... Fifth-starting Ashton Winger traded sliders with Moos in the closing laps, settling for third place. ... Polesitter Jake Little failed to lead a lap but ran inside the top-five for the entire distance, finishing fourth with his right rear quarterpanel flapping in the wind. ... Billy Moyer Jr. closed a solid week with another top-five finish after opening the week with a $5,000 victory at Moberly, Mo. ... Tim Lance gained four spots and finished 10th. ... Following a first-lap heat tangle that left Kye Blight's atop Drake Troutman's, the drivers started the feature with provision. Blight finished 14th and Troutman retired on lap 24 in 16th. ... Brian Diveley pulled off before taking the green flag the feature. ... Sunday's feature lasted 11 minutes.
On the move: Clay Stuckey of Shreveport, La., started 12th and finished seventh.
Winner's sponsors: Feger’s Longhorn Chassis has a Jay Dickens Racing Engine with sponsorship from Titan Industries, Digital Copy Systems, Hoker Trucking, The Big Cheese MM, Floyd’s Waste Systems, Remtek Enterprises, and RLM Enterprises and Cheap Cars.

Heat race notes

Billy Moyer Jr. took the lead on lap six and paced the final three circuits to win the first heat race. Myles Moos led the first five laps before being overtaken by Moyer Jr. and settled for second. After earning fast qualifier honors, Australia’s Kye Blight overdrove the entrance of turn one on the first lap, sliding across the nose of Drake Troutman and struck the wall heavily, coming to a stop in the outside line; Troutman had nowhere to go and slammed into the back of Blight’s stopped machine, lifting Blight’s rear wheels up onto his hood and air cleaner. It took track officials nine minutes to separate the cars and cleanup the scene of the incident. Blight and Troutman did not finish, but both received a provisional starting position after failing to transfer through the consolation. … Jason Feger narrowly repelled Ashton Winger in the closing laps, leading green-to-checkered to win heat two. … Jake Little led all eight laps to win the third and final heat race.
