Jason Hahne takes the checkers for $3,000 at Dubuque Speedway.
What won the race: Pole-starting Jason Hahne of Webster City, Iowa, led all 30 laps and fended-off late challenges from Andrew Kosiski to capture Sunday's Hoker Trucking Series feature at Dubuque Speedway. Hahne pocketed $3,000 for his second career series victory and his first at the Dubuque, Iowa, oval.
Quotable: “We’re been working on this thing a lot here. It’s a new Zeus by Mike Mataragas. We got that this year and he’s been a great help to me,” Hahne said. “We’ve been really, really close from out of the gate, we just had a couple minor things to tweak on here and there. I just kept telling our guys that if we kept qualifying good and heat racing good then you set yourself up for opportunities to win, and that’s what we’ve been doing.”
Key notes: After winning Saturday's $3,000 series stop at Maquoketa Speedway, Omaha, Neb.'s Kosiski moved into second and pressured Hahne in the closing laps. ... Andy Eckrich rode in second for much of the distance but settled for a third-place finish. ... Luke Goedert advanced three positions and finished fifth. ... Justin Kay, the winner of Friday's $3,000 weekend opener at Davenport Speedway, gained six spots and finished sixth. ... Charlie McKenna started 17th and finished ninth. ... Matt Ryan, a former Deery Brothers Series winner at Dubuque in 2016, drew the race's final caution on lap 29 and finished 17th. ... Sunday's feature, the finale of a Memorial Day weekend tripleheader, was slowed by three incidents and lasted 17 minutes, with 16 drivers completing all 30 laps.
On the move: Chad Holladay of Muscatine, Iowa, started 13th and finished fourth.
