What won the race: Polesitter Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., led 35 laps Friday at Eriez Speedway to capture the $5,000 Bob Rohrer Memorial. The former track champion took the checkers 2.234 seconds ahead of Darrell Bossard in the first of two weekend $5,000 Super Late Model specials at the September Sweep.
Key notes: Blair's victory is his third of the year at Eriez after claiming May's Andy Kania Memorial and topping July's ULMS stop. ... Eriez track champion Dave Hess Jr. of Waterford, Pa., advanced two positions and finished fourth. ... David Scott of Garland, Pa., gained three spots and finished sixth. ... Friday's feature, a precursor to the 10th annual September Sweeps, where another $5,000-to-win program will be held on Saturday, was slowed by three cautions and lasted 20 minutes, with 10 competitors completing 35 laps. … Saturday’s action includes the $5,000-to-win Super Late Model show and a $2,500-to-win Crate Late Model feature, along with modifieds, economods and street stocks.
