What won the race: Leading 50 laps from outside the front row with nary a challenge, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., captured the 20th annual Dave Smith Motors World Finals finale for the second straight year, collecting $25,000 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C. Davenport's event-leading ninth World Finals feature victory came by 1.410 seconds over World of Outlaws Late Model Series champ Bobby Pierce.

Quotable: "I didn't know how hard to go. We was all a little worried about tire wear," Davenport said. "Obviously just being abrasive down here in the South, you always worry about that a little bit, but we cut our tires certain ways so they would mileage a little more and I just didn't want to push too hard too early."

Key notes: Jonathan Davenport notched his 20th career victory on the WoO tour that he's never run on a full-time basis (his last WoO victory came Oct. 24 in Modoc, S.C.) ... He's won the finale at the World Finals five times: 2001, 2021-22 and 2025-26. ... Runner-up Bobby Pierce had already secured his third WoO title with Friday's 10th-place finish. ... Polesitter and Super Late Model rookie Dallon Murty ran a WoO-best third after losing second to Pierce on a lap-28 restart. ... Two cautions slowed the race, the first for on the 29th lap when Nick Hoffman and Chris Madden tangled in turn three battling for sixth amid traffic (Hoffman rallied back to ninth after a pit stop). ... A lap-37 caution appeared for an Eli Johnson flat tire. ... The 23-minute feature concluded at 9:44 p.m. ... Ricky Thornton Jr. and Hoffman won the $15,000 prelims on Thursday and Friday. ... The World Racing Group’s three national touring series converged at Charlotte for the 20th annual event.

On the move: Trey Mills of St. Augustine, Fla., started 11th and finished fifth; Ethan Dotson of Bakersfield, Calif., started 23rd and finished eighth.

Winner's sponsors: Davenport's Double L Motorsports Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Clements Racing Engine and carries sponsorship from Ace Doran, Nutrien Ag Solutions, ASC Warranty, Mark Martin Automotive, Mega Plumbing of the Carolinas, Mount Airy Polaris, Bilstein Shocks, VP Racing Fuels, Dyer's Top Rods, Go Lithium Batteries and Midwest Sheet Metal.
