What won the race: Fighting off early pressure from Eli Ross then a late challenge from Brandon Morton, Tyler Kuykendall of Warsaw, Mo., led all 30 laps from the pole in winning Saturday's Nutrien Ag Solutions Revival Super Dirt Series-sanctioned Octopless finale at Caney Valley Speedway. Kuykendall beat Morton by 1.140 seconds for the $3,000 victory, his second career Revival Series triumph with both coming this season.
Key notes: Racing without a roof on his car, Kuykendall cruised to his third feature win of the season, adding to his first Revival Series victory on July 5 at Electric City Speedway in Butler, Mo., also worth $3,000 ... Kuykendall topped May 16's Heartland Late Model Tour stop at Legit Speedway Park in West Plains, Mo. ... Brandon Morton moved into second on a lap-two restart but never seriously challenged Kuykendall until a lap-25 restart, before ultimately finishing second. ... Points leader Eli Ross pressured Kuykendall on a lap-nine restart before slipping as low as fifth on the ensuing lap, then moved back into fourth on a lap-12 restart. ... Brandon Conkwright was one of only a few drivers committed to Caney Valley's topside and quickly moved from his 18th starting spot to fifth by lap 20 before stalling and rounding out the top-five finishers. ... Two-time and reigning Revival Series champ Kylan Garner just missed a top-five result in finishing sixth. ... Jerrett Bransom gained five spots to place eighth. ... The 25-minute feature was slowed five times, first for an opening-lap spin by Clayton Ward, who continued to finish 13th. ... Jason Redman appeared to slam the turn-one wall on the ninth lap, drawing the second caution and ending his night. ... Sixth-running Jake Nightingale slowed on lap 10 with a flat left-rear tire then tangled with Dan Smith, sending both drivers spinning on the ensuing restart; Smith continued for 10 more laps before pulling off while Nightingale shook off the early trouble and rallied to finish 10th. ... Matt Menzie slowed with a flat right-rear tire and retired for the final stoppage on lap 25. ... Sixteen starters were running at the finish in completing all 30 laps.
On the move: Brandon Conkwright of Wamego, Kan., started 18th and finished fifth.
