Mangum gets first NDRA touring win at Lancaster
LANCASTER, S.C. (July 30) — Hometown driver Timbo Mangum got under Anthony Sanders of Spartanburg, S.C., exiting turn four on the 14th lap to take a lead he'd never give up Saturday at Lancaster Motor Speedway.
Mangum led the rest of the NDRA Road Show by Heintz Bros. Performance event for a popular victory at the half-mile oval, his first on the Crate Late Model tour.
Ron Parker of Belwood, N.C., finish second with Brandy Baker, Dennis Franklin and Ross Bailes rounding out the top five. Sanders ended up sixth.
Series points leader Zack Mitchell of Enoree, S.C., pulled off with engine problems midway through the race and finished 17th.
