What won the race: Storming by race-long leader Nick Hoffman as he pushed high in turn-four on lap 28, sixth-starting Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., led the rest of Friday's 45-lap OSR Southwest Iowa Shootout at Adams County Speedway. Pierce beat 13th-starting Tim McCreadie by 3.183 seconds for the $20,000 payday in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series debut at Adams County, notching his 20th tour victory of the season and 62nd of his career.
Key notes: Pierce led the final 18 laps for his 27th overall feature win of the season and his second at Adams County, adding to his July 14 victory there in Lucas Oil Series competition, worth $15,000. ... Nick Hoffman staved off early pressure from Pierce and led the opening 27 laps from the pole until pushing high in turn four on the 28th lap, opening the door for Pierce to take control. ... Tim McCreadie charged from his 13th starting spot and took second from Hoffman on a lap-35 restart, but never seriously challenged Pierce over the final 10 circuits.
On the move: Trey Mills of St. Augustine, Fla., started 23rd and finished sixth.
