What won the race: Ripping around early leader Steve Peeden after a third-to-first move on a lap-nine restart, polesitter Dustin Nobbe of Batesville, Ind., led the rest of Friday's 30-lap Slingin' Dirt Late Model Series debut at Circle City Raceway. Nobbe worked through lapped traffic to beat Peeden by 2.307 seconds for the $3,000 payday, his second career feature victory and first in a Super Late Model.

Quotable: "It feels great, we haven’t won one of these in a long time, so it feels awesome. To have my kid here, my dad, my grandpa, it’s pretty awesome to have all four generations here," Nobbe said. "It’s about dang time, we haven’t been very good recently and this gets us ready for the North-South."

Key notes: Nobbe notched his second career Late Model victory, both coming at Circle City, adding to an Oct. 4, 2024, triumph in 604 Crates. ... Second-starting Steve Peeden fired off the outside front row and led the opening eight laps until Nobbe ripped around on the hefty cushion and beat Peeden to the line by 0.086 of a second on a lap-nine restart. Peeden remained within striking distance, but never seriously challenged Nobbe over the race's final two thirds. ... Billy Green and Shelby Miles each improved three positions on a lap-10 restart to finish third and fourth, respectively, the only other starters to complete 30 laps. ... The race was marred by a lap-10 pileup that required a 10-minute red flag for cleanup after fourth-running Chad Stapleton spun at the entrance of turn one, eliminating Tyler Neal, Jared Bailey, Cody Mahoney, Jesse Puckett and Colby Reed; Stapleton, who overcame nose damage in his earlier heat race, continued until retiring from fifth under green on the 26th lap. ... Brad Rickels inherited fifth after Stapleton called it a night until he also retired on the 28th lap. ... Fifth-running Tucker Chastain pulled off under green on lap 15. ... Kody Marsee spun in turn two for the first stoppage on lap nine; he continued until retiring under green on the 18th lap. ... The 30-lapper lasted 20 minutes with seven starters running at the checkers. ... Devin Gilpin failed to finish the first heat race and scratched for the night.
