It's impossible the hold the checkered flag and hold up six fingers for a red-hot Bobby Pierce.
What won the race: Outside front-row starter Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., led 50 laps unchallenged Tuesday at Norman County Raceway, grabbing his sixth straight World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory and $20,000. Pierce beat polesitter Nick Hoffman by 5.323 seconds for his 16th Outlaws victory of the season and 58th of his career.
Quotable: “This is just crazy. We’ve been on runs before and everything, but it’s been a heck of a run ever since we got this new car out at Eldora. It’s been a beast,” Pierce said. “But, I can’t do it without everyone that helps me out, whether it’s the fans for their support, my sponsors, my crew, my wife taking care of things back at home while I’m out racing. It just takes a lot.”
Key notes: Pierce swept WoO's Upper Midwest swing, winning all six events since June 20 at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. ... It's the second time he's won six consecutive with the Outlaws, last accomplishing that feat between July 6-Aug. 2, 2024. ... Pierce notched his 21st overall victory of the season and his 10th in the last 11 starts dating back to June 4's Dream XXXII prelim at Eldora Speedway, earning nearly $270,000 over that span. ... Nick Hoffman regained the runner-up spot on lap 22, but never seriously challenged Pierce. ... Fast qualifier Jonathan Davenport briefly took second on a lap-11 restart before fading to finish fifth; Ryan Gustin powered around Davenport for third on lap 36 before 12th-starting Tim McCreadie passed him in a similar fashion for fourth on the 40th lap. ... Cody Overton rebounded after electrical issues Sunday at Nodak Speedway in Minot, N.D., gaining five spots to finish eighth. ... The race was slowed once when Ross Robinson slowed with a flat right-rear tire on lap 11. ... The 50-lapper lasted just shy of 20 minutes with 13 starters completing the distance and 21 running at the checkers.
On the move: Trey Mills of St. Augustine, Fla., started 19th and finished 10th.
Winner's sponsors: Pierce’s Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Vic Hill Racing Engine and sponsored by Low Voltage Solutions, Rio Grande Waste Services, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Churchill Transport, Collins Brothers Towing, Fort Knox Safes & Vaults, Carnaghi Towing & Repair, Pontiac RV, Steidinger Construction, Leka Tree Service, River Bottom Dog Training, Precision Cabinets, JT’s Trackside Catering, Bert by Budda Transmissions, VP Racing Fuels, Ohlins Shocks, Swift Springs, Velocita Suits and Slicker Graphics.
