Daulton Wilson leads the way in a Sunday heat race at Bedford.
What won the race: Overtaking polesitter and race-longer leader Daulton Wilson on the 30th lap, Mason Zeigler of Chalk Hill, Pa., led the rest of Sunday's 40-lap World of Outlaws Series-sanctioned Billy Winn Classic at Bedford Speedway for a $20,000 payday. The outside front-row starter took the checkers 2.013 seconds ahead of Wilson for his second career victory on the national circuit.
Key notes: Mason Zeigler's previous WoO victory came Aug. 17, 2019, at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway. ... He's the third non-national touring driver to win a full-field WoO event this season. ... Zeigler notched his sixth Bedford special over the last four seasons, amassing nearly $90,000 in first-place earnings over that span. ... Drake Troutman was scheduled to start 13th, but he pitted with a flat tire during parade laps and had to start on the tail; he rallied to 11th. ... Nineteen drivers completed 40 laps and 22 of 25 starters were running at the finish. ... The Billy Winn Classic honors one of the top dirt racers of the 1930s and winner of the first race at Bedford in 1936.
