Tad Pospisil emerges in victory lane at his hometown track.
What won the race: Surviving a poor restart and a tangle with a slower car, hometown racer Tad Pospisil earned a $3,000 Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Series victory Saturday at Off Road Speedway. Pospisil briefly lost the lead after a lap-11 restart and spun on the 19th lap, but he ended up leading all but one circuit in taking the checkers 1.746 seconds ahead of Justin Zeitner, the previous night's winner at Park Jefferson Speedway.
Key notes: Tad Pospisil, who led early in the previous night's Tri-State event at Park Jefferson but lost the lead and retired, has 11 career Tri-State victories. ... Pospisil stumbled exiting turn two after a lap-11 restart with Jacob Hobscheidt (outside) and Justin Zeitner (inside) quickly attacked. Hobscheidt led the 12th lap but Pospisil recovered to regain the lead on the next lap. ... On the 19th lap, officlals ruled Pospisil kept his spot after he tangled with the slower car of Corey Bosma at the top of the backstretch, sending Popisil's car spinning. ... Hobscheidt and Zeitner battled for second msot of the race. ... Besides the lap-10 caution for Pospisil, three other yellows slowed the action, the first on the fourth lap when Cory Dumpert went around in turn four. ... On the 11th lap, debris slowed the action. ... Alex Banks spun on the 28th lap between turns three and four. ... The 22-minute feature wrapped up at 11:14 p.m. ... Mike Benson scratched from the feature.
