Jonathan Davenport's third straight celebration at Golden Isles.

What won the race: His third victory in a row a milestone on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., wrestled the point from Brandon Overton on the 15th lap and grabbed a $12,000 Wieland Winternationals victory on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. In a tight sequence, Davenport edged ahead on the 13th lap, Overton regained the point on lap 14 then Davenport threaded the needle at the stripe to take over for good on lap 15 to officially become the all-time leader in series history with his 95th victory. He took the checkers nearly a second ahead of 14th-starting Tyler Erb.

Quotable: "Tyler (Erb) must have been really good to come up through there on the bottom," Davenport said. "I could see him down there, but after I'd run the top so many laps, I knew if I could just hit my marks, I didn't think he could get a run to the flagstand to beat me coming back to the white or the checkered (flags)."

Key notes: Winner Jonathan Davenport, who led every lap in winning Wednesday and Thursday's features, has 95 career victories on the series, 87 in full-field features (eight came in preliminary events). ... His 95th overall series win broke a tie with the late Scott Bloomquist. Davenport in victory lane did a patented Bloomquist crotch-chop in tribute. ... Runner up Tyler Erb peeked under Davenport a few times in the late going but couldn't pull alongside (Erb spun challenging Davenport a night earlier). ... Hudson O'Neal charged from 17th to second before slipping to sixth. ... Brandon Overton, who led 13 laps from outside the front row, ended up 13th. ... Polesitter Brian Shirley was in the lead battle on laps 13-15 before fading to 12th. ... Six cautions slowed the action, the most serious on a lap-12 restart when fourth-running Cody Overton's car veered right, clipping Mark Whitener's machine and slamming the turn-one wall, collecting Carson Ferguson and Freddie Carpenter (with runner-up Hudson O'Neal among others catching a piece of the mess). Overton, subbing in the Skyline Motorsports car, was OK. The team found his front bumper mount broke from the frame after earlier contact, restricting his steering. ... The first caution on the 12th lap appeared for a slowing Michael Leach. ... The third yellow flag dropped on the 30th lap for a slowing Carpenter (Ferguson simultaneously ducked to the infield). ... On the 38th lap, Sam Seawright slowed trailing heavy fluid. ... Brandon Sheppard slowed for a lap-42 caution, and Trey Mills retired with damage on the ensuing restart. ... Wieland Winternationals action wraps up Saturday with a $25,000-to-win finale.

In pursuit of his inaugural Lucas Oil Series victory, Brian Shirley charged from third-to-first on the opening circuit and led the entirety of the opening heat race, taking the checkers 1.337 seconds ahead of pole-starting Michael Leach. Outside polesitter Trey Mills faded to sixth early on but battled back to finish fourth, sliding underneath Trent Ivey to grab the final transfer spot. ... Jonathan Davenport marched to a heat race victory for the third night in-a-row. Davenport, winner of both Wieland Winternationals features at Golden Isles thus far, led flag-to-flag beating Garrett Alberson to the finish line by 1.153 seconds. Ethan Dotson rallied from seventh finish third after a battle with fourth place-finishing Garrett Smith. Third-running Jadon Frame later retired after tagging the turn four wall on the first circuit. ... Brandon Overton topped his younger brother, Cody Overton by 1.700 seconds to win the third heat. Pole-starting Kyle Bronson faded to finish third. Christian Augspurger scratched following time trials. ... Mark Whitener took advantage of a mid-race restart to take command from Ricky Thornton Jr. and went on to lead the remaining distance, beating Thornton Jr. to the checkers by 1.260 seconds. Brandon Sheppard survived early contact with Ross Robinson to round out the podium. Robinson, who salvaged a sixth place finish, pinballed into Sheppard's left-rear after scraping the turn four wall and nearly spinning into the infield. Josh Rice brought out the lone caution of the four heats when slowing after contact with the wall in turn four and was unable to continue.
