Caiden Black celebrates his first career Iron-Man Series victory.
What won the race: Caiden Black of New Concord, Ohio, commanded all 30 laps from the pole in winning Saturday's Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series season opener at Atomic Speedway. Black beat Adam Stricker to the line by 0.468 of a second for the $5,000 payday, his first career major Late Model touring series victory and first win in nearly two years.
Key notes: Black notched his first win of any kind since May 11, 2024's First Clay City Classic at Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio, worth $3,000 in unsanctioned Super Late Models. ... Zach Milbee gained three spots to finish seventh. ... Donovan Jackson improved four spots to complete the top-10 finishers. ... The 30-lap feature lasted 23 minutes with 13 starters completing the distance and 16 running at the checkers.
