What won the race: Overtaking race-long leader and polesitter Jensen Ford on the 37th lap, fourth-starting Jared Delk of Jamestown, Tenn., led the rest of Saturday's 50-lap King of the Mountain for a $10,000 Best Plumber 604 Racing Series victory at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Repelling Ford's late challenges, Delk took the checkers 0.231 of a second for his richest career Crate Late Model victory and first on the series.
Quotable: "I felt (Ford) pick me up there a few times and I just knew to stay in the rubber and I better not get out," Delk said. "I'm gonna have to get wrecked to be out of there."
Key notes: Jared Delk kept motoring after taking the checkers and inadvertently got into Adam Ahl in turn three on what should've been his cool-down lap. ... Delk won for the second night in a row; he earned a $2,000 victory Friday at Crossville (Tenn.) Speedway. ... Jensen Ford, who led the first 36 laps in his Chris Chandler-owned TNT Race Car, was in control much of the race but William Blankenship challenged early in the high groove. ... Addison Cardwell climbed four spots to place fourth, securing the Best Plumber 604 Series title. ... Skylar Marlar came from 21st to eighth to finish second in the standings, just 68 points behind Cardwell. ... Five cautions slowed the race, the first for Dalton Brown's opening-lap spin. ... On the second lap, Adam Ahl, Logan Walls and Blake Brown tangled between turns three and four. ... Track champ Michael Luna slowed for a lap-11 caution. ... Tim Damron went around on the 13th lap, but Marlar was tagged with the caution and sent to the rear. ... On the ensuing restart, a multicar scramble in turns three and four left Nolan Meadors sitting backwards (the third-running Blankenship pitted during the caution with a flat tire); Trevor Sise was sent to the tail with officials ruling he drove too aggressively. ... The 32-minute feature concluded at 11:28 p.m. ... Baily Cardwell and Ross White scratched.
On the move: Caleb Todd of Science Hill, Ky., started 18th and finished sixth
