Brandon Overton emerges in victory lane for a $12,000 victory.

What won the race: Fighting off late challenges from 11th-starting Josh Rice, Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga., earned $12,000 Thursday at Eldora Speedway in the night's second World 100 preliminary semifeature. Overton took the checkers 0.203 of a second ahead of Rice with Tyler Erb in third.

Quotable: "I knew he was coming. I kept glancing at the screen. I was like, man, I know that's Josh," Overton said. "He's my buddy. We run up and down the road together, all of our crews hang out, so yeah, helluva race. If I was gonna race it out with anybody, I'm glad it was him."

He notched his ninth victory of the season but just second since April. ...
