Fighting off late challenges from 11th-starting Josh Rice, Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga., earned $12,000 Thursday at Eldora Speedway in the night's second World 100 preliminary semifeature. Overton took the checkers 0.203 of a second ahead of Rice with Tyler Erb in third.

On the ensuing restart, Kyle Strickler got into the backstretch wall after contact with Dalton Cook and then Jadon Frame (Strickler flung his steering wheel at Cook under caution). ... On the next restart, Kale Green spun in turn four and collected Mathew Porter for the final first-shootout caution. ... In the caution-free second shootout, Brandon Overton led all 15 laps, taking the checkers ahead of Adam Stricker and Joseph Joiner. ... Hudson O'Neal ended the night of shootouts with a flag-to-flag win in the 15-lapper. ... Fifth-running Bobby Pierce's race ended in the third shootout when he pitted after showing smoke on the backstretch on the fifth lap. ... On the restart after Pierce's depature, third-running Tyler Erb spun exiting turn two, triggering a backstretch melee including Logan Zarin, Mario Gresham, Kody Evans and Jeffery Erickson Jr. ...
