What won the race: Recovering from a poor heat race run after lowering the track record, Tyler Erb of New Waverly, Texas, overtook Dustin Sorensen down the backstretch on the 21st lap and led the rest of Wednesday's 35-lap Corn Belt Showdown in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series debut at Southern Iowa Speedway. The seventh-starting Erb earned $12,000 in taking the checkers 2.126 seconds ahead of Ethan Dotson in the third of five straight Iowa events on the national circuit.

Quotable: "I just did a terrible job in the heat race. To carry a lot of speed around here, you gotta have your motor to where it keeps getting faster and faster, and honestly, just mad at myself," Erb said, later adding that "lapped traffic was hairy for sure, but, all in all, it was a good night."

Sorensen went under Dallon Murty on the backstretch to take command on the 12th lap. ... Murty led laps 1-11 and Sorensen laps 12-20. ... Sorensen settled for third behind Ethan Dotson while Murty faeded to eighth. ... The red flag for Mills was the lone slowdown in the 29-minute feature. ... Nick Hoffman went to a backup car for the feature after engine woes in his heat race while running second; he finished 10th in the feature. ... Mills also had problems in prelims, hitting the turn-two fence in his heat. ... Because crew members went on the track, Mills was disqualified and placed 23rd in the final rundown (two spots worse than his initial finishing position).
