What won the race: Overtaking polesitter Tim Ward on the 24th lap, former series champ Cole Searing of Huron, S.D., captured Saturday's 30-lap Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Series feature at Hamilton County Speedway. Searing's $3,000 victory denied Ward, the Arizona transplant who won a night earlier at Hancock County Speedway, a sweep of the Iowa weekend.
Key notes: Cole Searing notched his 10th career Tri-State tour victory. ... He took the checkers 1.310 seconds ahead of reigning series champion J.T. Wasmund while Tim Ward, who led laps 19-23, settled for third. ... Ward's Friday victory at Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa, was the first in a Late Model for the modified standout. ... Hamilton County's fourth-place finisher Justin Zeitner led laps 4-18 while Cory Dumpert led the first three laps from outside the front row. .... The 20-minute main event concluded just before 10 p.m. ... Curt Kranz scratched from the feature.
