Key notes: The Northern Allstars Late Model Series concludes its Hoosier State weekend doubleheader with Saturday’s $10,000-to-win 43rd annual Hoosier Dirt Classic at Brownstown Speedway. … Joseph Joiner of Milton, Fla., led the final 22 laps of Friday’s Don Hobbs Classic at nearby Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway, collecting $10,000 in his debut there. … Josh Rice of Crittenden, Ky., topped last year’s $10,000 Hoosier Dirt Classic at Brownstown, notching his first victory at the famed quarter-mile oval, but he is competing this weekend at Mansfield (Ohio) Speedway. … Derek Groomer of Bloomington, Ind., held off Matt Boknecht to win April 25’s inaugural Slingin’ Dirt Series event at Brownstown, worth $3,000. … Boknecht, of Seymour, Ind., nipped Cody Mahoney by 0.09 of a second to win May 9’s local Super Late Model race. … Devin Gilpin of Columbus, Ind., the 2022 Hoosier Dirt Classic champ, was a five-time Brownstown winner last year in local unsanctioned Supers. … Each heat race winner will receive $200 with cash bonuses also being paid to the two highest finishing drivers utilizing a Crate engine (1. $500; 2. $300). … Modifieds, pure stocks and hornets are on the undercard. … Watch live on Hunt the Front TV.
