Two-time Show-Me 100 winner Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., ran 40 laps virtually unchallenged in Friday's first preliminary feature at Lucas Oil Speedway for a $10,000 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory. The outside front-row starter took the checkers 3.666 seconds ahead of fourth-starting Chris Ferguson in winning the Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson, honoring Show-Me 100 founders.

Max Blair was scheduled to start outside the front row but was pushed pitside during pace laps after losing power; he rallied from the tail to fourth. ... Kolby Vanderbergh's car was damaged in an early scuffle. .. In the second heat, two-time track modified champion Dillon McCowan dominated. ... Ricky Thornton Jr. won a three-wide battle for second behind McCowan, taking the checkers as Brenden Smith banged into the rear of Thornton's car in finishing third, narrowly turning back Gordy Gundaker. ... In the third heat, early leader Garrett Alberson's car violently flipped between turns one and two; he climbed out apparently OK but a bit shaken up.
