What won the race: Regaining the lead for good when Kyle Thomas tangled with a lapped car and spun on lap 37, pole-starting Brent Trimble of Morgantown, W.Va., led the final 13 laps at Elkins Raceway to win Saturday's $5,000 Fastrak Racing Series feature. Trimble, the reigning Fastrak weekly champion, led twice for 25 laps (1-12, 38-50) to secure his first touring series victory of the season.
Key notes: Fourth-starting Billy Beachler followed Trimble into the runner-up spot on lap 38 and finished 3.053 seconds back. ... Fifth-starting Garret Paugh overcame a spin while battling A.J. Spagnuolo for second on a lap-38 restart attempt and rebounded to finish third; Spagnuolo placed fifth. ... Second-starting Thomas, of Pennsboro, W.Va., who led once for 25 laps (13-37) recovered from his lap-37 spin to finish fourth. ... Hayden Jacobs advanced six positions and finished seventh. ... Fifth-running Patrick Solari retired on lap 42. ... Chandi Currence was running fifth when she was involved in a race-ending incident on lap 40. ... Dave Loudin and Scott Sweeney failed to complete a lap. ... Ryan Hare scratched from the feature lineup. ... Saturday's 37-minute main event was slowed by seven cautions and saw five drivers complete 50 laps; 12 were running at the finish.
