South's crown jewel scarcity

We are smack in the middle of crown jewel season and that’s a wonderful thing if you have an opportunity to venture out to one of these high-paying, prestigious events. If you live in the South like I do, however, you may find that it’s a bit harder to get to a crown jewel, or at least if you do go to one, be prepared to cover a lot of mileage on your way. Thank you Jonathan Davenport. Thanks for setting the Twitterverse ablaze with ponderings of passing points. With 18 hours to kill while riding from Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., to Longhorn Chassis in Trinity, N.C., following his prelim crash in last weekend’s USA Nationals, J.D. took to Twitter to voice his disdain over the passing points format used in the $50,000-to-win World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series crown jewel event.
