Reminiscing about racing

Any time a bunch of old racing buddies gather in one spot for too long, there’s bound to be a certain amount of reminiscing. As old stories are retold, these tales often grow taller, sometimes even beyond belief.

I’m no different than anyone else when it comes to “shootin’ the gip” as Run-D.M.C. used to say. I like to rehash the old stories, relive the glory as it were — or as I can remember it — because those were some good times.

Better days ahead

Saturday's 28-mile ride home from Duck River Raceway Park was a quiet one. For the second straight week and the third time in the last four races, my brother and I headed home with a torn-up race car following a tumultuous Crate Late Model race. Both weekends I’ve felt like we had a top-five car, but all we’ve had to show for it is crinkled metal and more unnecessary work.
