Easy on the eyes

jdphotosports.photoreflect.com

When I was a teenager helping out on a Dirt Late Model team, I remember the graphics guy coming over to letter the car. He had a whole box full of paints, thinner, reducer and all kinds for brushes and other items. He would spend the better part of the day lettering that car with all of us doing a little work around the shop as we watched the new creation come to life and the bare panels take on a whole new look. The paint job came along with a warning: don’t crash because it will be several MORE

Keeping fans informed

DirtonDirt.com

In a recent conversation I had with DirtonDirt.com's Michael Rigsby, he suggested I write a blog about being the new voice of Eldora Speedway. I told him that’d be fine except, at the time, I hadn’t even announced a race at Eldora yet. Beware a nor'easter

A nor’easter is defined as a macro-scale storm along the East Coast of the United States and Atlantic Canada, so named because the winds come from the northeast, especially in the coastal areas of the northeastern United States and Atlantic Canada. Nor'easters can occur at any time of the year and can MORE

One thing we've often worried about with DirtonDirt.com is if visitors to the website always discover the content we post.

A computer screen is only so big, and with the extensive video, photos and stories frequently uploaded to the site, especially during a major weekend, we realize some things might get overlooked. That's one reason we rotate popular photos, stories and videos into different positions on the site, but one thing that doesn't always get big play is our weekly results section.

Lux's tough weekend

Todd Battin

Imagine that you have spent countless hours the past week preparing a race car. You take your immaculately prepared car on a 10-hour drive to a special event. You pay your car registration and pit passes, hot lap, qualify and race your car and spend your weekend at the track only to end up with a severely damaged car and receive less money back than the cost of your team's entry fees. For racer Matt Lux, he doesn’t have to imagine it — he experienced it first-hand on April 9-10 at Farmer MORE
