ATTICA, Ohio (Aug. 24) — Jon Henry of Ada, Ohio, had a thrilling debut in a brand new Rayburn Race Car Saturday night at Attica Raceway Park, overtaking race-long leader Ryan Missler of Bellevue, Ohio, on the final lap of the third-mile oval’s Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Model feature to earn his 13th-career victory at the third-mile oval.

“I had my work cut out. Ryan was really good and I had nothing to lose there on that last lap,” said Henry, who won on Attica’s championship night. “I had to give it a shot. I hope I gave him enough room.

“This is a new Rayburn Race Car and I’m happy to get into victory lane for them. I have to thank Keith Berner at Accuforce. I spent a day with him and really just dissect this car and go through it and here we are in victory lane.”

Missler wrapped up his fifth consecutive track championship with his runner-up finish, but he was denied what would’ve been his first victory of the season.

“I couldn’t have done this without all the help from my crew and sponsors,” Missler said. “We wanted to win that one bad but we seem to be snake bit at the end of every race here. We just couldn’t buy any luck here this year but I’m happy to get the championship.”

Ninth-starting Matt Irey of Mansfield, Ohio, advanced to third in the 25-lap feature with Brandon Thirlby of Traverse City, Mich., and Mike Bores of Bellevue, Ohio, rounding out the top five finishers.

Notes: Henry’s sponsors include The Mean 15, Fultz Fabrications, Henry Farms, Mike and Sheila Keller, Truman Quarter Horses, Lehman & Lehman, Norada Lanes, Associated Plastic, Home Savings and Loan, William H. Bass Trucking, Ron Spencer Real Estate, Jim Weber Motorsports, Automated Transport, In Memory of Darrell Kirsch, Re-Deck of Northwest Ohio, and Fremont Speedway.
