FAQ: Live pay-per-view of USA Nationals

Frequently asked questions about DirtonDirt.com's live pay-per-view production of the Aug. 1-3 USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis.:

What if I’m having technical problems?: Contact us. Emails or text messages are preferable to phone calls (because of the noise at the racetrack, in part) and we’ll respond as quickly as possible:

What will I get if purchase the pay-per-view?: Multicamera coverage of every lap of action with prerace and postrace shows, driver interviews, roving reporter and more. Each night will have about five hours of coverage of World of Outlaws Late Model Series action along with the track’s NASCAR Late Models and NASCAR Midwest modifieds (Thursday). You’ll also have the opportunity to chat with other viewers.

How much does it cost?: Check our ordering page for package details. A three-day package for subscribers is $39.99 while a three-day package for non-subscribers is $45.99. Thursday and Friday are available individually for $18.99 apiece while the Saturday-only program is $21.99.

Is my computer capable of receiving pay-per-view?: If you have a high-speed connection and you're typically able to view videos online, you're set. Regularly-used computers 5 years old or newer with recent software shouldn't have any problems.

Is it just like watching TV?: For the most part, although you computer screen is likely a bit smaller and the picture isn't quite as a sharp as some television broadcasts. As long as you have a steady high-speed internet connection, you should be able to watch smooth video throughout each night's program.

Is the live production available on mobile devices?: A computer and full web browser may provide the best experience, but most smartphones and tablets, including iPhones and iPads, can be used as well.

What's the racing schedule?: Thursday’s schedule includes a complete $6,000-to-win program for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series along with programs for the NASCAR Late Models and NASCAR Midwest modifieds. Friday’s racing includes time trials, heats and a dash for the World of Outlaws with a complete NASCAR Late Model program. Saturday’s conclusion includes consolations, a last-chance race and $50,000-to-win 100-lapper for the World of Outlaws along with a complete NASCAR Late Model program.

What time does the production begin?: Pre-race show begins about 6 p.m.; hot laps set for 6:30 p.m. (Central time) each night.

Can I watch from work?: Maybe not. Many places of businesses use security firewalls on computer systems that prevent live video. If you receive a server message (something like rtmp://dirtondirt.streamguys.com:80/live) it's likely a firewall issue. Most home networks won't have such firewall issues.

Who will be announcing?: Dustin Jarrett and Ben Shelton will be announcing along Cedar Lake track announcer Chris Stepan.

Who is doing the production?: DirtonDirt.com co-founder Michael Rigsby will oversee a specially assembled production team that brings extensive broadcast experience. Jay Williams of Parker Street Productions is directing with videography by Steve Gigeous, Terry Boeder and Derek Kessinger with assistance from others.
