Mars grabs $3,000 fair victory at Manitowoc
MANITOWOC, Wis. (Aug. 23) — Jimmy Mars led flag-to-flag in a caution-free feature Tuesday at Manitowoc County Expo Speedway, earning $3,000 in the Fair Opener 40 sanctioned by the Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association.
Mars started outside the front row and held off a hard charge on the last lap from seventh-starting A.J. Diemel of Bonduel, Wis. Nick Anvelink of Navarino, Wis., was third followed by polesitter Justin Hirt of Tigerton, Wis. Russ Scheffler of Waukesha, Wis., Friday's weekly winner at Manitowoc, rounded out the top five.
