Mayo earns $5,000 with Bama Brawl victory

MOULTON, Ala. (Oct. 13) — Former Southern Regional Racing Series points leader Billy Mayo of Cleveland, Tenn., outran current SRRS points leader Byron Michael at Moulton Speedway to win the weekend finale of the fourth annual Bama Brawl. Mayo collected $5,000 for his second SRRS victory of 2007. | Slideshow
Eric Hickson, Josh Putnam and Arkansas invader Stacy Taylor rounded out the top five while Bub McCool, who won the previous night's Arkansas Motorsports Professional-sanctioned event, was 13th.
Billy Mayo's 14.59-second lap was fastest among 39 cars. ... Josh Putnam, who normally races in the Late Model Stock division, fielded a No. 17 Super Late Model. ... The top 12 qualifiers among four groups were locked into the first six rows of the main event. ... Jamie Flannigan, Ronald Dunn, Tony Morris and Brandon King won consolation events. ... Donald Johns won the Late Model Stock race.
