Notes: Batesville Motor Speedway hosts the 34th annual Ace Doran Topless 100 presented by Big River Steel, a two-day event culminating with Saturday’s 100-lap, $50,000-to-win main event. … The weekend at the Mooney and Connie Starr-promoted oval kicks off with Friday’s 25-lap, $5,000-to-win split-field semifeatures with the top-16 point earners getting locked-in for Saturday’s feature; all remaining drivers will need to qualify through one of Saturday’s consolations, preceding the 100-lap finale. … Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., led the final 64 laps to win last year’s $50,000 top prize after Brandon Sheppard blew a right-rear tire while leading. Davenport, also the 2022 Topless 100 winner, has six other Batesville specials since 2021, including a sweep of May’s Comp Cams Series-sanctioned Bad Boy 98 weekend, combining to collect more than $140,000 over that span. … Josh Rice of Crittenden, Ky., is fresh off his first career Sunoco North-South 100 victory at his home track Florence Speedway in Union, Ky. … Tim McCreadie of Watertown, N.Y., is also a two-time Topless 100 winner (2008, ’24), worth more than $75,000. … Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga., earned 2023’s $50,000 payday nearly 20 years after winning his first Topless 100 in 2004. … Hall of Famer Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., has six major wins since 2007 at his home track, including July’s $5,000 Comp Cams Series weekend opener. … Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tenn., is a three-time Topless 100 winner (2009, ’14, ’20). … Modifieds are on the undercard nightly. … Pits open at 3 p.m. for Friday prelims then one hour later for Saturday’s finale; grandstands open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 7:30, daily.
