Making an inside move exiting turn four on the 13th lap to overtake polesitter Chris Ferguson, Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., led the rest of Florence Speedway's 25-lap first semifeature to open the Sunoco North-South 100 weekend. Winning his first feature at Florence, Sheppard dominated the second half of the race to earn $6,000, taking the checkers 3.116 seconds ahead of Garrett Alberson.
