What won the race: Outdueling Jason Jameson, Rusty Schlenk of McClure, Ohio, emerged victorious in Saturday night's 40-lap Northern Allstars Late Model Series Breakout Bash at Montpelier Motor Speedway. Schlenk lost the lead to Jameson on lap 36 but battled back to regain command coming to the white flag and held on for the $7,500 triumph.
Key notes: Schlenk's victory was the first of his career on the James Essex-promoted NALMS. ... Jameson advanced from the eighth starting spot to second by lap 19 and turned up the wick late to overtake Schlenk and lead laps 36-38 before settling for runner-up money, just 0.273 of a second behind the victor. ... The feature was slowed by three caution flags.
On the move: J.R. Gentry of Wooster, Ohio, started 22nd and finished 10th.
