What won the race: Keeping a hard charging Morgan Bagley at bay, polesitter Cade Dillard of Robeline, La., led all 30 circuits to win Friday's Nutrien Ag Solutions Revival Super Dirt Series season opener at Boothill Speedway. The 34-year-old beat Bagley to the checkers to pocket $5,000 for his second consecutive Ronny Adams Memorial triumph.
Quotable: "We had a really good race car like in, the open for when it was slick," Dillard said. "And then I kind of started taking a little bit of rubber and then naturally, you know, everybody's kind of the same speed once they get in that line. And when I got there and I felt it latch down ... just don't do nothing stupid and just stay right there in that line."
Key notes: Dillard's second victory this season was his third Ronny Adams Memorial title; he also won the race in 2021 and '25, both in Comp Cams Super Dirt Series action. ... The home state driver also notched his third career win on the Revival tour, which made its debut in Louisiana. ... Driving a new car, third-starting Morgan Bagley settled for second after challenging Dillard near the race's halfway mark as they were mired in lapped traffic. ... Jon Mitchell was third aboard a new Rocket Chassis. ... On the opening circuit, Mitchell and Mike Palasini Jr. made contact, sending Palasini spinning and triggering the first of four cautions; Palasini was able to continue and finished eighth. ... Kyle Cummings retired after slowing on the second lap. ... Overheating issues forced Michael King Jr. to the infield as the race's first retiree. ... Dakota Smith scratched with engine woes. ... The tour’s inaugural visit to Boothill was condensed into a one-day program after Saturday’s finale was cancelled. … The event honored Ronny Adams of Diana, Texas, who won nearly 600 feature races across a 51-year career in the Louisiana and Texas area, including 14 Boothill track championships; Adams died on August 19, 2019, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer and was honored by the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame with a Lifetime Achievement Award on the same day.
On the move: Terry Henson of North Little Rock, Ark., started 18th and finished 13th.
Winner's sponsors: Dillard’s Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Clements Racing Engine and sponsored by S&S Fishing & Rental, Joel’s Auto Sales, Strength Roofing & Siding, Jenkins Logging, Johnsville Company, Jody’s Oilfield Service, Bryan Cook Trucks, Hoosier Racing Tire, Lonestar Equipment & Repair, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Nichols, Production Jars, Bilstein Shocks, VP Racing Fuels and Supreme Vinyl Works.
