What won the race: Regaining the lead from reigning series champ Dave Mass on the 24th lap, James Giossi of Hudson, Wis., led the rest of Wednesday's 40-lap Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series event at Gondik Law Speedway for a $3,000 payday. Mass went under Giossi to lead laps 22-23, but the fourth-starting Giossi's high-running No. 11x swept back ahead amid traffic and he captured his second career series victory by 1.146 seconds over polesitter Kevin Eder.
Key notes: James Giossi, who led laps 8-21 and 24-40, previously won on the WISSOTA Challenge circuit in 2018 at Proctor (Minn.) Speedway. ... Giossi took command from polesitter Kevin Eder on a restart with a third-to-first move. ... Runner-up Kevin Eder led laps 1-2 and 6-7, then took second from Dave Mass with six laps remaining and took one serious shot at Giossi in turn four but settled for second. ... Ashley Anderson rallied to take third from Mass on the final lap. ... Outside front-row starter Billy Kendall led laps 3-5 but faded to finish 12th. ... Two cautions slowed the race, the first for Tyler Peterson's retirement on the eighth lap. ... A lap-35 caution appeared for debris. ... The 20-minute feature concluded at 9:28 p.m. ...
